Welcome to the world of Victorine Meurent, Édouard Manet, and Paris Red.
Paris Red is my third novel, and I sold it to W. W. Norton in September. (Well, I didn’t sell it — my literary agent did.) A month later, the French publisher Christian Bourgois bought the book.
I loved working on this novel so much that I wanted to create a blog about all the images, words and artifacts that inspired me and served as my talismans. This blog is as much a mood board as it is record about the writing of Paris Red and the journey toward publication.
Or maybe I’m really creating this because I can’t bear to part from my characters and the world of Paris in the 1860s.
If you want to learn more about me, please visit my web site, maureengibbon.com. This mood blog is very much a work in progress, so please stop back again in the future.
